South Africa Ousts France from the World Cup (Rugby)

South Africa just won a thrilling World Cup quarter-final against France, with a final score of 29-28. Now, they are set to face England in the semi-finals.

The upcoming match at the Stade de France is expected to heavily favor the defending champions, especially after New Zealand’s impressive comeback against Argentina the day before.

The Springboks managed to secure their lead with an incredible try, their fourth of the game, thanks to the exceptional performance of second-row player Eben Etzebeth. Despite the support of their 80,000 spectators, the French team narrowly missed out on victory.

It’s worth noting that South Africa had suffered a single loss in the pool stage to Ireland, mainly due to issues with their kicker.

On the other hand, the French team, boosted by the return of their scrum-half and captain Antoine Dupont, entered the game with confidence but ultimately proved insufficient against the Springboks.

As a result, South Africa is considered the clear favorites in the upcoming semi-final against England, setting the stage for a repeat of the World Cup final from four years ago in Japan.
