Nigeria and UAE Resume Visa Services: Streamlined Process for Nigerian Citizens

The Nigerian government and the UAE have announced a significant development in their diplomatic relations, resuming visa services for Nigerian citizens visiting the UAE starting on 4th March 2024.

This follows in-depth talks between Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, marking a significant step forward in bilateral cooperation. The UAE has introduced an enhanced document verification process to ensure a seamless and efficient visa application experience.

Starting 4th March 2024, all Nigerian applicants for UAE visas are required to obtain a Document Verification Number, which can be completed through the dedicated online Document Verification Hub platform. The UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Saleem Saeed Al-Shamsi, emphasized the importance of this updated procedure, stating that it aims to facilitate straightforward and expedited visa applications for Nigerians.

Applicants can proceed with their visa applications through designated travel agents, followed by the process at the UAE Embassy in Abuja or Lagos. The announcement signifies ongoing efforts to enhance the strong ties between the UAE and Nigeria, contributing to the prosperity and well-being of their people.
