Time Magazine’s List of Influential Figures: Burna Boy, President Ruto, and Siya Kolisi Shine

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy, Kenyan President William Ruto, and South African rugby captain Siya Kolisi have been named on Time magazine’s list of the world’s most influential people.

Burna Boy was praised by Grammy-winning singer Angélique Kidjo for his significant impact on the music industry. Kolisi’s leadership skills, particularly during South Africa’s Rugby World Cup victory, were praised for bringing hope to his nation.

Ruto was commended for his efforts in Africa’s climate action, while Ugandan LGBTQ+ advocate Frank Mugisha was praised for his stance against anti-gay legislation.

Human rights activist Julienne Lusenge was praised for her work in combating sexual and gender-based violence and advocating for women’s political participation. Kennedy Odede, a social entrepreneur, was also highlighted.
