Let Us Stay In Africa & Develop Africa – Prof Lumumba

Let us stay in Africa and develop Africa. Those were the words that resonated with Prof Lumumba of Kenya. Lumumba, an Advocate of the High Courts of Kenya and Tanzania, who also doubles as a Law Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Nairobi, shared his opinion that Africans need to stay in Africa to develop Africa,

According to Prof. Lumumba,  what is Africa’s dearth in terms of resources? What do we lack? If it is solar energy? Which landmass is proficient in making solar energy to light the continent and the whole earth? If it is hydroelectricity, what can we not develop? If it is minerals? If we wanted to make bombs, if we should…. where do they get their uranium from? If it is timber, what don’t we have? If it is human resources we are 2 billion of us and we are people who have intelligence, and yet we are kept in an ongoing strife.

The Europeans, the French convincing their previous colonies that they are more French than they are yoruba, they are more French than they are Wolofs and Mandinkas, The British coaxing us that we are more British than we are Ibibios or Yorubas. And, of course, when we find ourselves in that psychotic state then we participate in inner turmoil and they sell their arms to us.

Let us stay in Africa to develop Africa. We’ve got everything in Africa that can make Africa rise.
