Friends Turned Employee: Skit Maker Mark Angel Shares Journey

Mark began doing skits in 2013, but it wasn’t until he became well-known in 2015 that he finally made it big in 2016.

He made the decision to give comedy his whole attention after dabbling in photography and cinematography. Despite being disheartened, Mark’s vision and conviction persisted.

He was almost talked out of starting a skit by his friend Alloy, a Shell Nigeria employee. Alloy once questioned Mark about if he meant to support his family with his skits, but Mark put all of his money into developing his talent, even paying a blogger N30,000 per month to publicise his skits.

Alloy now works for Mark’s construction business, and Mark makes fun of him for his earlier ridicule. Mark’s friendship with Alloy has enabled him to move past challenges and carry on with his career as a sketch creator.
