By Giving is a Choice– Kanayo blasts Reno Over Comment on Obi
Veteran Nollywood performer Kanayo O. Kanayo criticised Reno Omokri, a former media advisor to former President Goodluck Jonathan, for involving Peter Obi, a member of the Labour Party, in the illness of actor John Okafor.
Obi was called out by Omokri for failing to cover the actor’s medical expenses, noting that Ibu had supported and campaigned for Obi as his favourite candidate during the general elections of 2023.
Kanayo criticised Omokri’s statement on his Instagram page, saying it was inappropriate to use giving as a weapon against others.
Kanayo emphasised that contributing is a personal choice and shouldn’t be used as a pretext to criticise or hold accountable individuals who haven’t made a donation. He cautioned people to give if they wanted to.
The veteran’s remarks follow Omokri’s well-known video in which he criticised Obi for his medical expenses.
