I Oppose LGBTQ Matters – Professor Patrick Lumumba

Has nature changed? We must be very slow to personalize laws. Very slow. The arguments brought forward about bills related to LGBTQ issues are often directed at Africa, but they would never present such arguments to the Arab world. They would never confront Kuwait, Bahrain, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, or Indonesia in the same way. Why is it Africans who are always seen as subservient to the rest of the world?
On this issue, I stand 100% with the government and people of Uganda. There is no freedom outside the law. How do you balance individual decisions or the right to choose? Choose what? Choices must be limited by the moral framework of a community.
And, honestly, should we even be discussing LGBTQ issues when we still have no food on our tables? The real danger lies with you, the journalists. Many of you already have your positions and try to impose them on us during interviews. We refuse to be dictated to. We know what is happening.
What if the United States Human Rights Council intervenes? Is the United States Human Rights Council some kind of god? It is merely a body created by human beings, where some are permanent members and others are not. Morality is not a matter of numbers; it is about principles.
You may disagree with me, but I tell you, without hesitation or apology, that I oppose LGBTQ matters. And to the journalists—anchors like you—I know the agenda. You seek to impose your views on us, but we refuse. Your role is to facilitate balanced discourse, ensuring that my views are heard, just as you would hear from those who think differently.
I oppose LGBTQ matters with every ounce of my being.
But do I advocate for them to be killed? No, absolutely not. Nobody has said that they must be killed. I urge you to read the law carefully before jumping to conclusions.
