NNPC’s CEO, Mele Kyari, Calls on Aliko Dangote to Disclose the Government Officials Involved with the Fuel Plant in Malta.

Mele Kyari, the GCEO of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, has challenged billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote to reveal the identities of NNPC workers accused of establishing a blending plant in Malta.

Dangote accused some NNPC workers of importing fake petrol products into Nigeria, claiming they created a petroleum refinery in Malta from where they import inferior fuel into Nigeria. Kyari denied owning a blending plant in Malta and was aware of no NNPC employee that owns or operates a blending plant in Malta or anywhere else.

He recommended that such individuals be declared public and made known to relevant government security agencies for necessary actions due to the grave implications for national energy security.

SaharaReporters reported that Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, chaired a high-level meeting on Monday over the challenges facing the Dangote Refinery, Lagos, which the government believes is a critical project in the oil sector.

The House of Representatives called on the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, and oil marketers to refrain from making public accusations against each other using the media.
