FG to Include Families of Fallen Soldiers’ in Social Register

The national social registry and programmes aimed at reducing poverty will now include the families of soldiers who have been wounded or killed, according to the federal government of Nigeria.

Dr. Betta Edu, the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, emphasised the need of helping the families of fallen soldiers and asked for military records to include them in the social registry.

Edu emphasised the need to solve the nation’s poverty and humanitarian challenges and encouraged the Nigerian military to work with the government to stop more citizens from slipping into the humanitarian category.

Gen. Christopher Musa reassured Edu of the military’s dedication to assisting her humanitarian mission and expressed hope that the partnership will produce fruitful outcomes. The emphasis is on facilitating efficient communication and helping those impacted by humanitarian disasters.
