New MMIA Terminal Experiencing Congestion, Halts Operations

Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, has ordered airlines and businesses at Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) to relocate to a new terminal that a Chinese company recently erected.

However, airlines have already experienced capacity difficulties, which have caused delays in passenger assistance and baggage handling. There has been an increase in passengers and airlines at the new terminal as a result of an unfortunate fire at the old terminal, which has also sped up the move of some airlines there.

Virgin Atlantic staff members have voiced concerns about the difficulties that airlines and travellers will encounter as a result of the change, claiming that the new terminal cannot handle the volume of traffic the “forced” movement will bring.

Sindy Foster, the principle managing partner of Avaero Capital Partners, thinks the minister ought to have given the situation more thought before making an expensive choice that will have an impact on private companies.

She advises that in order to take the appropriate next steps, it is important to take into account both the financial implications and the logistics of the airlines moving all at once.To achieve a smooth transition, the timing of the choice is essential, and a deeper comprehension of the procedures involved is required.
