UAE lifts visa ban on Nigerian Travellers after Tinubu’s intervention

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan have reached a historic agreement that allows the visa ban on Nigerian travellers to be lifted immediately.

The Nigerian government is not required to make an immediate payment under the arrangement. In Nigeria’s economy, the UAE investment arms would pour billions of dollars into industries including agriculture and defence.

President Tinubu is also delighted to have negotiated a cooperative foreign exchange liquidity programme between the two administrations, which will be published in more detail in the upcoming weeks.

In accordance with the agreement, Etihad and Emirates Airlines will immediately resume their flight schedules into and out of Nigeria. The Nigerian government would like to express its gratitude to UAE President Al Nahyan for his friendship and his efforts to rebuild and normalise relations between the two nations.
