South Africa Resumes Load-Shedding
South Africa has resumed widespread power outages, known as load-shedding, following a brief respite during the festive period.
Eskom, the state-owned power utility, announced the measures from 5 am to 4 pm, exacerbating the country’s power infrastructure challenges.
The power cuts are set to escalate from stage two to stage three, causing blackouts up to nine times a day over four days for two hours each time or nine occurrences over an eight-day span for four hours each time.
This resumption of power cuts highlights the ongoing efforts to address and stabilize the national power grid.
