Africa’s Only Hope Is a Strong Africa – Inspired by Malcolm X
Malcolm X once said that the future of people with African roots depends on the strength of Africa. He believed that if Africa becomes strong and united, then people of African descent no matter where they live will be treated with more respect. But if Africa stays weak, they will continue to be looked down on, especially in places like the United States.
He gave an example of China. Many years ago, people used to say, “You don’t have a Chinaman’s chance,” meaning Chinese people had no chance of success or respect. This was because China was weak back then. But when China became powerful under Mao Zedong, that saying disappeared. Now, Chinese people are respected all over the world because their country is strong.
Malcolm X believed the same can happen for Africa. When Africa becomes powerful by working together, building its economy, and standing up on the world stage then Black people everywhere will be treated with dignity. Respect doesn’t come from asking for it. It comes when your homeland is strong and independent.
So if we want to see real change for African people around the world, we must focus on making Africa strong. That is our hope and it’s the key to earning respect anywhere in the world.
