WHAT AFRICAN TIME MEANS

Time was not something to race against in ancient Africa. Time was nature, which was something to move with.

African Time had absolutely nothing to do with lateness originally because it wasn’t something we measured mechanically but was an alliance with our spirituality and a balance with mother nature that we tagged along with.
I have explained this on a lighter note in some of the places I have had the privilege to speak.

For an ancient African man, TIME has to do with the right energy in alliance to nature. We don’t race with it, and neither do we compete with it. We track it and tag along with it.

While Western Time is Mechanical, African Time was spiritual. If we go back in time historically, the ancient city of Aksum and Kemet can help in the knowledge of this. It was never a thing we measured or counted. It was known more to be seasonal and periodic. The Yorubas, for instance, have Igba (season), asiko (period), and akoko (time in relation to event), none of these used to be measured. It was all about nature, period, and event until the invention of Clock (aago).
