The Clarion Call To African Professionals – OMOTADE Isaac Adekunle (OIA)
Over a year ago, while I was meditating, I felt our ancestors guided my thoughts towards a practicable solution to save Africa. However, self-awareness was spotted to be of utmost importance.
Just like the 12 disciples, the professionals of Africa, the few legit ones with the means, platform, and resources, must help to revolutionize the minds of our people – OIA.
I have meditated on this time and time again, and I have come to believe this could be our only chance as African people, most especially the professionals of Africa, to rescue Africa from this neo-colonialism, capitalism, neo-liberal globalization, and cultural subjugation of Motherland people.
Sometimes I am scared of what the future holds for Africa if we continue in this trend. My people, the message I got was as clear as crystal that we, as African people, are living on borrowed time. Our ancestors are not happy with us. We have made a caricature of their sacrifices. Now, we have to make the ultimate sacrifice. It is a collective sacrifice of self-discipline to avert self-destruct.
We are not like the rest of the world. They may be on IG, X, FBK, TikTok, Twerking, debating on other people’s personal lives, catching a cruise, and so on. We, as African people, can’t afford that now because we are far behind the rest of the world, especially in the aspect of the collective mental growth of our people compared to the world at large.
The most important information I want us to get from this message is: we are not like the rest of the world, we may have access to all the Tech gadgets, the luxuries, etc. But that does not translate to development. What will bring about our collective development is to use those gadgets to unlearn and learn anew, study our history and professions, discover you, who we truly are as Motherland people.
We must infuse discipline in all that we do, learn to have self-control. It is not your business who is hitting on who, who is knacking who on social media, who is marrying who, who is gay or lesbian; render discussions like this useless and promote conversations that will portray patriotism and bring about our collective development as African people. It is our duty to promote more topics that will foster nation-building and will kick the ruiners of our respective countries in Africa out of office, tossed into the dustbin of history.
