Adebayo Criticizes Economic Policies in Nigeria: A Call for Change

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 presidential election, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies for their harsh impact on Nigeria. Adebayo believes that Nigerians voted for these policies either because they did not pay attention or did not understand the implications. He and his party warned Nigerians not to listen to Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi on subsidy removal during their campaign ahead of the 2023 poll.

Adebayo argued that the current economic policies in Nigeria are not good because structurally they are not suitable for the country. He compared the situation to the people of Israel asking Moses to lead them out of Egypt, who realized it was not an easy place to be and started complaining.

Adebayo disagreed with President Tinubu, Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and Governor Peter Obi on three issues: cost of governance, subsidy in various sectors, and foreign exchange. He stated that these policies have never worked in any country before and that it is not about one person being good or bad.

Nigerians have been protesting against hardship, inflation, and high cost of living, and Adebayo believes that anyone who adopts these policies will get the same result. He also emphasized that it is not about one person being good or bad, but about the country’s history and development.
