Breaking: Soldiers Killed in Boko Haram Ambush

A number of soldiers have been killed by Improvised Explosive Devices during an ambush by militants from the Islamic State-backed Boko Haram faction, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), in Borno State.

The attack occurred along Fulka and Bama road on Monday. Some civilians, including a pregnant woman, were killed when their vehicles stepped over the planted IEDs.

Improvised explosive devices and ambushes continue to pose a major threat to soldiers fighting Boko Haram and ISWAP in Northern Nigeria. The road has been completely blocked due to the incident, and there are fears of many unexploded devices on the road.

A pregnant woman with a small child was also killed, but the child survived. Nigerians should be aware that Boko Haram terrorists are still active in the North East. The remaining soldiers from the engineer unit are making clearance to allow other motorists to use the road.
