Ex-YBNL Signee Humiliated by Olamide’s Wife

Temmie Ovwasa of YBNL said that Aisha Adebukunmi, the spouse of the Nigerian rapper Olamide Adedeji, publicly humiliated her. In August 2015, Ovwasa secured a record deal with YBNL Nation; however, she quit the company in 2020 because of a conflict with her manager. During her time with the label, she allegedly recorded around 25 songs, but only four were made available. She further alleged that every time they went out together, her boss wife would remind her that she was a “broke” person, humiliating her.

Ovwasa spoke about her experience on Instagram, asserting that she was only treated as a poster girl when the cameras were rolling but otherwise ignored. Additionally, she complained that her tenure with the label totaled five years and she “wasted” it by recording over 25 songs but only releasing four of them. She also berated the sexist wife of her boss for reminding her that she had been brought to alter her life as a poor girl.

In the wake of the passing of well-known singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, Ovwasa related her story. His death was the subject of debate, and Ovwasa claimed that it was falsely implied that he was struggling with his mental health and abusing narcotics.
