Former South African President Jacob Zuma Involved in Car Crash Amid Election Campaign Drama”

Former South African President Jacob Zuma was engaged in a car accident in KwaZulu-Natal, where a drunk driver hit his official state vehicle. Zuma, suspended by the African National Congress (ANC), is campaigning for MK ahead of the May election.

The accident happened at 18:40 local time and included a 51-year-old male who was arrested for drunk and reckless driving.

Musa Mkhize, MK’s election chief, claimed the crash was organised. Zuma, who was president from 2009 to 2018 and faced corruption allegations, is entitled to an official protection team.

The crash occurred at the same time that he was forbidden from running in the next election due to a past prison sentence.
