Libya Announces Fundraising for Rebuilding the City of Derna

The eastern government of Libya have announced a fundraising effort to help rebuild the devastated city of Derna, which was hit by deadly floods on September 10th.

There will also be an international conference held on October 10th to discuss reconstruction plans and to attract foreign investment. The rival government in Tripoli has not yet responded to the conference invitation.

However, it remains to be seen how effective this fundraising effort will be, as the eastern government is not recognized internationally and may not receive foreign funding.
