Nigerian Army Raid in Igbomotoru: Community Leader Calls for Peaceful Intervention

The Nigerian Army invaded the Igbomotoru community in Bayelsa State, killing around 11 people and razing three houses suspected to be the hideout of a militant leader involved in the killing of military men on rescue mission in Delta State.

Ayibakipreye Solomon Clarkson Suobo, a community leader, called on security chiefs to intervene and save lives and property in the community. Suobo emphasized the need for a better approach to protecting innocent civilians, stating that the military is a trained organization responsible for defending its citizens.

He called on peace agencies to intervene and for the military to apply a carrot and stick approach when dealing with unarmed civilians. Suobo also called for peace-loving Nigerians to come to their aid and for the military to apply the recommended practice of applying a carrot and stick approach.
