Nigeria’s Osimhen May Miss AFCON Semifinal

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen may miss the Africa Cup of Nations semifinal match against South Africa due to abdominal discomfort.

The striker was in Abidjan on Tuesday morning after missing the squad’s flight to Bouaké on Monday. The Super Eagles confirmed that Osimhen has been placed under close watch by team medics. If cleared by the medical team, he will join the rest of the squad before 17h on Tuesday.

Osimhen, the reigning Africa Player of the Year, has only scored one goal in the tournament but has played a significant role in Nigeria’s 16th consecutive AFCON semi-final appearance.
