US Imposes Sanctions on Sudanese Companies Allegedly Funding War
The US Treasury has imposed sanctions on three Sudanese companies, Alkhaleej Bank, Al-Fakher Advanced Works, and Zadna International, allegedly financing the ongoing war in Sudan.
The companies are accused of money laundering and fundraising through gold exports. The sanctions are part of a broader strategy to curb the ongoing conflict, which has resulted in over 12,000 deaths and forced nearly eight million people to flee their homes.
General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the commander of the Sudanese army, has called for a full-scale offensive against the RSF. Both the Sudanese army and the RSF have faced allegations of war crimes, which are vehemently denied by both parties.
