Why Khaby Lame Was Deported From The US

Khaby Lame, the world’s most-followed TikTok star, was recently detained by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Las Vegas and subsequently “self-deported” from the country.

According to US immigration, the reason for his detention was that he had overstayed the terms of his visa. Lame, an Italian citizen born in Senegal, entered the U.S. on April 30 and was detained at Harry Reid International Airport on June 6 for immigration violations. He was granted voluntary departure and has since left the United States.
