Nigeria’s NEMA Bolsters Security Amid Rising Warehouse Attacks

Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has increased security measures at its facilities amid increased cases of warehouse attacks.

The Director General of NEMA has instructed Zonal Directors and Heads of Operations to strengthen security in and around the agency’s offices and warehouses nationwide to prevent breaches.

Nigeria is facing one of the worst economic crises in years, with inflation rising to nearly 30% and the Naira at an all-time low against the dollar.

A powerful trade union has launched protests demanding immediate measures to quell hunger, calling for the opening of all food storage silos across the country. The decision comes after residents broke into a facility in Abuja to steal food items.
