Deadly Floods Ravage East Africa: Tanzania and Kenya Hit Hard, Urgent Measures Underway

Tanzania has experienced 58 deaths in floods over the past two weeks, with the coastal region being the hardest hit.

The government has distributed essential supplies, including food, to those affected. Tanzania plans to construct 14 dams to prevent future flooding.

East Africa is also experiencing heavy rains, with neighboring Kenya reporting at least 13 deaths. Infrastructure has been damaged, and those living in flood-prone areas are being urged to move.

The rains are expected to peak at the end of this month.
