Emefiele Ordered To Be Remanded in Kuje Prison

Justice Hamza Muazu of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja has ordered former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to be remanded in Kuje prison until his bail request is determined.

Emefiele will remain in prison until November 22, when the court will deliver a ruling on his bail motion.

The Federal Government’s Rotimi Oyedepo opposed Emefiele’s application for bail.

Justice Muazu said a bench ruling could not be delivered due to the numerous authorities cited by both parties.

Officials of the Kuje prison authority have been contacted to bring a vehicle to transport Emefiele to prison.
