Nigerian Air Force Detains Soldier Over TikTok Videos: Violation of Military Code

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the arrest and detention of CPL AI Garba, who was detained over his TikTok videos comparing US military officers with West African counterparts.

Garba was detained in Abuja for over six weeks due to his medical condition. Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet confirmed Garba’s detention, stating that the soldier was in custody for violating provisions of the Armed Forces Act.

However, he emphasized that the NAF and the military are guided by set rules and regulations, and any personnel who violates these rules or falls short of expectations will face consequences. Indiscipline in any form will not be tolerated.
