Tundun Biri Community Files Lawsuit Against Nigerian Government

The Tundun Biri community in Kaduna State, Nigeria, has filed a lawsuit against the Nigerian government for violating their fundamental human rights.

The victims, including Nura MC Khan, were killed by a military drone attack on their village. The villagers are seeking monetary compensation worth N33 billion and an apology to be published in at least three national dailies.

They are seeking a declaration that the aerial bombardment of the deceased victims during the Islamic Maulud celebrations violates their fundamental rights to life.

President Bola Tinubu has described the attack as an event designed by God, stating that as people of faith, led through Mawlid al-Nabi, they must state it as a tragic event designed by God.

The hearing of the case has yet to be fixed by the court. President Tinubu expressed condolences to the bereaved families during his visit to Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
