10 People Injured as Plane Slides off Runway in Senegal
A Boeing 737 plane carrying 85 passengers crashed off a runway in Dakar, Senegal, injuring 10 people, as reported by the transport minister and a passenger’s footage.
The aircraft, operated by TransAir, was en route to Bamako, Mali, with 79 passengers, two pilots, and four cabin crew. The injured individuals received medical treatment at a hospital, while the rest were accommodated at a hotel for rest.
The Aviation Safety Network, a nonprofit organization that monitors airline incidents, released images of the aircraft in a grassy area surrounded by fire suppressant foam. One engine seemed to have fractured, and a wing was also visibly damaged. Boeing did not provide a response to a comment request.
