South African actor Connie Chiume, best known in the U.S. for her appearances in the Marvel “Black Panther” movies, has died at age 72.
Her death, in a hospital, was announced on Wednesday by her family in a statement. It did not specify the illness for which she was being treated.
The Black Panther actress Connie Chiume who was pronounced dead at age 72, was a South African star and filmmaker who died on Tuesday at a Johannesburg hospital her family says.
She played appeared in two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, set in the fictional land of Wakanda.
On her Instagram, a message said: “The Chiume Family regrets to inform you of the passing of the internationally acclaimed award-winning actress Connie Chiume.”
