US Revokes Visas for Bob Vylan Following “Death to IDF” Chant at Glastonbury

WASHINGTON D.C. – The U.S. State Department has officially revoked the visas for the British punk-rap duo Bob Vylan, effectively cancelling their planned tour in the United States.

The decision comes after frontman Bobby Vylan led a chant of “Death, death to IDF” during the band’s performance at the Glastonbury Music Festival over the weekend.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau confirmed the revocation on social media, stating, “Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.” The move follows widespread condemnation of the chant, which has beenlabelledd as'”deeply offensive by the BBC and “appalling hate speech” by UK Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.
The band was scheduled for a roughly 20-city tour across the United States. Advocacy groups like StopAntisemitism had publicly called for the revocation of Bob Vylan’s visas following the incident.

Visa revocation criteria for the U.S. State Departmeincludesude inadmissibility on security, criminal, or other grounds, and the authority to revoke rests with consular officers, the Secretary of State, or delegated officials. The incident has also prompted an investigation by UK authorities into whether any criminal charges should be filed.
