Dr Thomas Mensah, The Ghanaian Who Invented Fibre Optics

It’s a fact that the discovery of Optic fibre that enables us to swiftly transfer data between mediums was engineered by a Black man, from the gold coast. Meet Dr Thomas Owusu Mensah current President and CEO of Georgia Aerospace Systems and world renowned Pioneer in fibre optic technology.

Born in Kumasi Ghana, attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Aside being the pioneer of Fibre optic manufacturing, he also contributed hugely to the manufacturing of Nanotechnology. Thomas Mensah has got 14 Technological patent in his name, and was officially inducted into the US National Academy of Inventors in 2015.
