Sowore Tells President Tinubu, Security Agencies To Place Subversive Elements Hunger, Unemployment, Insecurity
Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, has asked President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to also put hunger, poverty, insecurity, and others on a security watch list to maintain peace in Nigeria.
Omoyele Sowore, who was the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 and 2023 general elections, made this statement in response to the threats on the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests, which were met with a violent security crackdown.
He emphasized the need to prevent these five issues from affecting Nigeria further.
It had been reported that the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Kemi Nandap said the sponsors of #EndBadGovernance protest in the diaspora were on a watch list and they would be arrested when entering the country.
Nandap had made this known on Tuesday in Abuja during a combined news conference by the heads of security agencies and Service Chiefs convened by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.
The human rights activist, who gave the warning on his X account wrote: “Nigeria’s President and ALL the Security Agencies MUST put Hunger, Poverty, Insecurity, Unemployment, and Corruption on their SECURITY WATCH list; they must not let these five SUBVERSIVE elements enter Nigeria in order for peace to reign #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria. #RevolutionNow”
