Basketmouth Publicly Apologizes to AY and Others for Conflicts

Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, famously known as Basketmouth, has tendered an apology to his long-time, fellow comedian and colleague, Ayodeji Richard Makun, popularly known as AY. The comedians engaged in internet banter towards each other over a 17-year feud that was caused by a broken business transaction.

Basketmouth said that infidelity was the main cause of their long-standing rift. In a bid to apologise, Bright further stated that he was willing to make amends with AY and other individuals in the entertainment industry that he might have offended.

He began by taking full responsibility for his actions and publicly apologised to those he may have hurt. “I’m genuinely sorry, please forgive me,” he said. Basketmouth also expressed remorse to the people he may have affected negatively in their careers, stating that only God knows the truth behind some of the allegations made against him. He added that regardless of the accusations, he was seeking forgiveness in order to move on and have a peaceful relationship with everyone.

In a special apology to AY, Basketmouth acknowledged that their relationship had gone sour, and accepted that he may have been the one responsible for it. He asked for forgiveness from AY, regardless of the public allegations both parties made against each other. He also stated that he had personally forgiven AY and was looking forward to a peaceful relationship with him.

Lastly, Basketmouth addressed the opinion held by some members of the public, which may suggest that his apology is a publicity stunt. He stated that he had a show coming up on the 26th of November but his apology was genuine and not a strategy to sell tickets. He concluded by appealing for forgiveness from anyone he may have wronged, revealing his sincere intentions to make amends with everyone in the entertainment industry.
