By D’Tigress Beat Canada To Reach First-Ever Olympics Quarter Finals
Nigeria’s female Basketball team, Di’Tigress on Sunday qualified for the quarter-final of women’s basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
AFRICAN NUGGET reports that the team defeated Canada 79-70 in its final group game at Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, France.
The victory earned D’Tigress their first-ever appearance in the quarter-final of the Olympics basketball tournament.
There was not much difference between D’Tigress and Canadians in the first quarter that ended 18-18.
Canadians edged the team in the second quarter, and the game finished 41-37 by halftime.
The third quarter ended with the Canadians managing to get five points as Nigeria swarmed them, rounding off a historic 9-point victory.
