The Nigerian government has allocated N37.2 billion for the construction of the Court of Appeal (Abuja Division) building and N12.5 billion for the purchase of 200 Toyota Land Cruiser Buffalo V6 vehicles for the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) endorsed these initiatives to support policies and projects that aim to enhance the economy, encourage investments, and improve the ease of doing business.

The council sanctioned a contract for the construction of the Court of Appeal Abuja Division and also approved the procurement of 200 Toyota Land Cruiser Buffalo V6 vehicles for the Nigeria Customs Service. Additionally, the government approved insurance coverage for the vehicles at a cost of N522 million.

FEC further authorized a contract for the establishment of bus terminals and other transportation facilities in Abuja, amounting to N51 billion, and the creation of a Special Purpose Vehicle to develop 90,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable to enhance Nigeria’s internet connectivity by 60-70%.

The council also greenlit the transformation of a property in San Francisco, USA, into a Nigerian Digital Technology Exchange Programme Hub, as well as the acquisition of 8 backup generators running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Solar power.
