Tragedy Strikes Nasarawa State University: Stampede Leaves Female Students Injured and Feared Dead

A stampede at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has left some female students feared dead. The incident occurred during the distribution of palliatives, and several other students sustained injuries. The National President of the Nasarawa State Students Association, Yunusa Baduku, described the incident as horrible and urged all students involved to seek medical attention.

Baduku stated that the students broke through the gate into the Convocation square, where bags of rice were to be shared. Most of the female students sustained injuries, while others were suffocated due to the crowd. Baduku is currently at the Federal Medical Centre in Keffi, where some students are receiving treatment. NASA National President, Yunusa Baduku, has received an official report of one student dying from the incident.

The Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, has advised President Bola Tinubu to urgently fix the country’s economy and demonstrate political will to fight terrorists wreaking havoc in northern Nigeria. The Nigerian naira plunged to its lowest point on record in official trading, and the Yoruba people are dying due to hunger.
