USA Court Grants Atiku Access to Tinubu’s Academic Records

The District Court in the United States has ordered the prompt release of non-privileged documents of President Bola Tinubu by Chicago State University. This was carried out following an appeal initiated by the Presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.

Together with the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, they filed grounds for appeal at the Supreme Court to void the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal ruling.

The petitioners made 86 grounds of appeal, with Atiku on 35 with major arguments on electronic transmission of results and vote counts in the Federal Capital Territory. Filing through another 51 cases, Obi also challenged the panel’s ruling outcome on several grounds.

After Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa had disqualified herself, the PEPT had upheld the election victory of Tinubu. They have referred to this as an “erroneous” and “defective” judgement, asking the court to nullify the findings by the Election Tribunal.
